Letter From Kenny Tomlin, CEO
I have always enjoyed being a part of starting new things. Strategy planning, competitive research, building a team, casting a vision, and making it happen are the types of things that keep my blood flowing! From the very beginning at Rockfish we have had an entrepreneurial vision. Our tagline has been “An Idea Evolution Company” because we believe that all great companies or projects begin with a simple idea that can evolve into something great. We join our clients as a part of their team to help them dream big and execute large! And when we offer up ideas and insights, many times they are born out of our own experiences running our own companies. I think that makes Rockfish unique in the world of interactive agencies -we are putting our money where our mouth is. In our 2.5 year history we have launched four companies: Silver Joe’s Coffee Company (silverjoes.com), Fourthbook.com, FileSend.us, and now GenoFish.com which you can read about in this newsletter. (Our fifth company is in development and will launch soon). Next year we’ll also be announcing details on an incubator that we’ll be starting at Rockfish. We want to invest in entrepreneurs that have a great idea and need a small amount of capital, a location, and a team to help them grow their idea into a company. Did I mention that I really love being a part of starting new things?
With everything that launching a new company involves, don’t think for a minute that we are neglecting our core business at Rockfish - designing websites and developing web applications that deliver results for our clients. In fact, just the opposite is true. Our team continues to grow every month, in December we’ll be moving into our new offices in Northwest Arkansas (our fifth move so far), and, probably most exciting, we’ll be launching our Dallas location in mid-November. Justin Bryant, one of our Directors at Rockfish, will be relocating to Dallas and we’re currently interviewing candidates in the area. We remain committed to building Rockfish into one of the top interactive agencies in the country, and growing into the Dallas market is an important step in accomplishing that goal. Stay tuned to our blog (rockfishblog.com) for up-to-date information on Dallas.
That all brings me to the purpose of this newsletter, to help keep you informed of the amazing things going on at Rockfish. Our clients challenge us and then trust us to work on some awesome projects. We’ll be discussing some of those projects in this newsletter. Maybe some of our projects and new companies will plant the seed of an idea into your mind that can evolve into something great? We’re here to help you with that when you’re ready!
If you’ve received this newsletter, then you are a friend of Rockfish. In some way we have talked or done business together. Thank you for your trust and support! My blood is flowing again just typing this intro and thinking about all of the exciting things we have going on…it’s time to get back to work!
Cheers,
Kenny Tomlin, Founder and CEO
