Letter From Kenny Tomlin, CEO
In previous newsletters I’ve written about our commitment to innovation and entrepreneurialism
at Rockfish. Already in 2009 we have launched three exciting new brands:
- CrazyHotJob.com – A website that posts one new job each day. That means that each year only
365 jobs will be posted and that each posting will be crazy hot! (For those of you who are
familiar with Woot.com, think Woot for jobs).
- Mind of Moms - The vision of Mind of Moms is to present opportunities for engagement between
popular and successful social media experts and corporate America through one-day summits, on-site
boot camps, and our Mind of Moms virtual community.
- TidyTweet.com - We created TidyTweet to provide a real-time filtering and monitoring tool
that allows companies to syndicate Twitter content on their website or blog free from
inappropriate language, users, and content.
Over the past 3 1/2 years we have launched seven new brands and eight proprietary technologies.
We are convinced that being an entrepreneurial company makes us a much more exciting place to
work and a much better partner for our clients. In order to accelerate the process of launching
new companies and technologies this month we have formally announced the creation of Rockfish Labs.
Rockfish Labs is our new business incubator within Rockfish that will focus on the following
types of opportunities:
- Through Rockfish Labs we will invest in other entrepreneurs' ideas and provide them the
support and resources they need for a successful launch.
- Through Rockfish Labs we will partner with other companies to bring new products to
market where we will share in the risk and opportunity.
- Through Rockfish Labs we will develop new technologies and companies that are wholly
owned and operated by Rockfish and/or operated as separate companies.
2009 has already been a great year for Rockfish and we sincerely appreciate your continued
trust and support! As a client or vendor partner of Rockfish you can be certain that we
are always pushing ourselves to grow in new technologies and emerging media and to understand
how these can be used to grow your business. And, when we offer up ideas and insights for
your business, many times they are born out of our own experiences running our own companies.
Cheers,
Kenny Tomlin, Founder and CEO
